“ Last Summer “
Dir. by Damien Krisl
Jessica Eldridge wants to rid her home town of a violent gang but is too scared and unable to do it alone. It isn't until a freak accident reveals a long time mysterious neighbor who is from the future and has been hiding special abilities that she discovers a way to free her home of this violence. She confronts this man, begging for his help, but he reveals that any actions he takes will affect everyone's future, not just Jessica's but the also the people in the town. Jessica has to find a way to convince the man to help her or risk losing everything.
The video "Last Summer" evokes feelings of nostalgia, questioning, and desire. Between the evocation of "On the Road" by Kerouac, and "Las Vegas Parano" it depicts a youth fleeing the comfort of everyday life to cross the country in search of new beginnings, towards a future marked by nostalgia. The repeated lyrics "When are you supposed to dance again?" suggest a desire to reconnect with a lost love. Wondering about the moment when they will be able to find this harmony and complicity disappeared in artificial paradises.
